On Tuesday, Nov. 16, some important pieces of the Stroh Center will be put into place. The 23-foot Falcon statue, the largest in the world, will be installed as part of the front entrance. Crews will also put the Stroh Center letters onto the building.
The statue will be part of the Falcon Spirit Plaza, which will serve as a front entrance not only to the new arena, but also to the BGSU campus and community. Philanthropist Irwin Belk donated $100,000 to cast and build the bronze statue. Belk has commissioned approximately 50 such statues for various colleges and universities throughout the nation.
