The Parable of the Prodigal Son is one of the famous parables of Jesus which appears in the Bible. In the story, a father has two sons. The younger son asks for his inheritance and after wasting his fortune, becomes destitute. He returns home with the intention of begging his father to be made one of his hired servants, expecting his relationship with his father is likely severed. The father welcomes him back and celebrates his return. The older son refuses to participate, and the father reminds the older son that one day he will inherit everything. But, they should still celebrate the return of the younger son because he was lost and is now found.

Of all the parables that Jesus spoke, the one featuring the prodigal son may be the most touching and best remembered. Matt Glenn, President of Big Statues, was extremely fond of this project when it was presented to him and loved the idea and opportunity of recreating this moving parable. "The Prodigal Son is a parable that has so much hidden symbolism", stated Matt. "The amount of detail and thought that is required on this project is tremendous. It is one thing to recreate a statue; it is another thing to recreate a story and tell that story through a bronze masterpiece. I am excited to work on this project and look forward to the experience it will bring."
Glenn loves what he does because he is able to do what he loves. He is able to help someone create a memorial that will stand forever as a symbol and never fade away. Each day at Big Statues brings a new opportunity to turn someone's vision and dream into a reality. That is not something that the average person gets to do everyday. It is a priceless feeling.
The project was inspired and motivated by a young Eagle Scout candidate who wanted to contribute to the residents and the church, and create something that would leave a lasting impression. The project is being funded by members of the community and is set to be completed and unveiled in Spring of 2017.
