Former U.S. President Ronald Reagan has been honored with a bronze statue in central Tbilisi. The bronze sculpture by Georgian sculptor Avto Monaselidze will be officially opened on November 23, the St. George`s Day.
Former U.S. President Ronald Reagan has been honored with a bronze statue in central Tbilisi. The bronze sculpture by Georgian sculptor Avto Monaselidze will be officially opened on November 23, the St. George`s Day.
“Freedom is never more than one generation” – the quotation by Reagan is engraved in Georgian and English languages on the sculpture.
Erecting the bronze figure of the American symbol of the end of the Cold War and the Soviet age is dedicated to the 20th anniversary of collapse of teh Soviet Union.
The sculpture depicts Reagan sitting on a bench so that anyone would be able to sit next to him and take a photo with the 40th President of the United States.
